The first point worth mentioning is that Paul Dupré's binary idea meant that it was possible to issue each candidate with a unique 8-digit candidate number and that this number allowed me to tell whether a candidate was sitting a.m. or p.m. tests and precisely what combination of maths, verbal, non-verbal, English and creative writing tests were being sat. However, of even greater benefit is the program in the Excel spreadsheet that allows us to send an email to multiple schools or candidates. The program allows us to advertise our tests to schools and therefore to future candidates. The same program is used to remind candidates when their test date is approaching and again when their papers have been marked. These advantages mean that everyone is aware of all the arrangements and the candidates therefore get the best possible experience from our test. This is of financial benefit to us because a number of these candidates enjoy the experience and sit with us again. The program that Paul Dupré has created saves us an immense amount of work because the only way that I could reproduce what he has done would be to 'cut and paste' the text into emails over and over again. |
